BimBeriBon is a cute café/restaurant/bar/bakery in West Asheville, off Haywood road. I knew I liked this place the moment I walked in because it reminded me of a place I am very fond of in Greenville S.C. Ever heard of Caviar & Banana’s? If you are ever in Greensville you must stop in there. BimBeriBon gave me the same sort of feeling, because they also have separate sections to order different things. There is a Café side with treats to drool over displayed in the window from the bakery.

They have all kinds of fun café style drinks, from hot to cold. There is a Deli section with food already prepared to say, “I want that please.” and go. There is a bar section on the other side offering wines, ciders and cocktails. Oh, and lets not forget about the food!

I’ve really enjoyed each meal I’ve had here. With that being said you can tell I’ve been here a couple of times. My first visit here I was invited to lunch with a friend. After that I knew to bring Maggie here for one of our meetings. Just the other day Maggie and I sat outside to enjoy a business lunch, meaning we ate good food, giggled and got down to planning some future events we are really excited about sharing. During that lunch, I had the Moroccan Chicken Tagine bowl which made my taste buds do a little happy dance.

Let’s break this place down into a few topics.

My favorite time to eat at BimBeriBon is for brunch on Sunday. Every single thing Maggie, Jason, Luciano or I ordered we raved about; and we ordered a lot of things.

Case and point.

Maggie pretty much did her happy food dance the whole way through brunch. Here’s the run down; for Sunday they only do breakfast and they close at 2. Order the Jian Bing, which thank goodness is featured on the breakfast AND lunch menu because this dish is a favorite for a reason. It’s traditional Chinese street food, with the Asheville touch. The Jian Bing is the first dish closest to you in this picture below. You should also know this picture only lasted 5 seconds before the feasting commenced.

The toasts are on point! We had the Ricotta toast which is topped with smoked salmon, radish, dill, capers, red onion, olive oil and lemon. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

My favorite thing about BimBeriBon is their motto, “real, feel good food”.

Oh man, does this resonate with me! I have been on a journey with food, as I’m sure we all have our own stories, but mine is coming to a realization about eating food that makes me FEEL GOOD. BimBeriBon focuses on this meaning by how we feel afterward is the real test of truly good food. Part of their motto is a series of questions such as, “Does it energize us and lift our sprits? Does it make us feel nourished and supported? Does it increase our capacity to thrive?” These are the questions they ask themselves with the food they create, which is funny because this is what I strive to ask myself for each meal I eat. These questions highlight what is important when eating. I can actually vouch for their motto being fitting because after our brunch I found myself on a trail run at Richmond Hill. There I was, a full belly with energy to exert, sun shining on my face and my feet hitting the dirt trail with speed and adventure on my mind.

What keeps Bimberbon on my mind is of course besides the food, the café drinks. You get the normal coffee and tea drinks, and then they have super food lattes which are as crazy as that sounds. I love me a delicious crazy drink to sip on. I find this is something unique to this place because its rare to come by a café with drinks so different from the normal.

This is a Raspberry, Rose & Coconut Latte which is a drink I am in love with. I’ll sheepishly admit I was trying to recreate this at home, even though I made something pretty tasty it doesn’t compare to the original.

Why you will catch me eating here throughout the weeks is I truly feel this place has something to offer anyone you dine with. Their menu is diverse with food inspired around the world, and yet humble enough to not scare away the not-so- adventurous eaters. There are healthy dishes and then there are ones to really indulge in. I will say though, each dish has there motto behind it and is something I feel great about nourishing my body.

Why you should check it out, because of all the above ^!!!
