Let’s get something clear real quick, weddings are not my thing. Seriously. And it’s not lost on me that many of you are gasping in horror as you read this, but I urge you not to stress. In this tale, I get my comeuppance.
The truth is, Asheville is dreamy. From the way the sun and shadows chase each other over the mountains, to the way the entire city seems to turn into a secret garden of flowers and vines at the wake of spring; it’s little wonder why so many people fall in love, or even just elope here. You can literally smell the romance in the air, though you might have mistaken it for food. (Psst! The way to the heart is through the stomach!)
For the next few weeks, Life in the AVL will be talking about nothing other than Asheville Weddings: a couple of the classic spots, a handful of unexpected vendors, even some stories by people that have chosen to get hitched here. We will also be showing you ways to pull off a fairy tale wedding on a budget, all while shopping local. We’ll sprinkle a little DIY here, and a bit of dress shopping there. Just like any wedding worth its salt, it’s going to be a real good time.
