To kick off our wedding series, we want to highlight a new local business that we are pumped about. If you follow us on social media, this post might ring some bells.

Introducing: Asheville Wedding Collective.

We sat down with founder and CEO, Alexandra Herman, and were blown away by what we learned. Technically speaking, we are categorizing this as a vendor; but in truth, it is so much more. Let’s break it down from the beginning.

What Is It?

Asheville Wedding Collective is a new website that just went live at the end of April. It is a unique site and a great resource for everyone, whether you’re planning a wedding, or providing one.

Who Can Join?

The Collective is designed for both sides of the wedding industry; meaning that it is designed for both couples AND vendors.

For Couples:

When a couple logs on to Asheville Wedding Collective, they have access to an easy-to-use, online planner that simplifies the overwhelming stress of planning the big day. Even if you don’t connect with a vendor, or purchase a single product through the Collective, the planner is still available, and it’s completely FREE.

In addition to the planner, couples also have the ability to search for products and services from local (Asheville area) vendors, that they may never have learned about otherwise, and certainly wouldn’t find anywhere else. They can even inquire about green event planning!

For Vendors:

Vendors here is a broad term that encompasses many people, from caterers and photographers, to day-of coordinators and magical venues. And it even goes a step further than that. How so:

Imagine you’re a blushing bride-to-be, and you’re planning the biggest day of your life. As you envision your entrance to the reception space, you imagine a garden out of a fairy tale. You can almost smell the flowers. Lucky for you, the Asheville Wedding Collective is a meeting space where you can find the farm/florist to provide all those beautiful plants; as well as the talented local ceramic artist that will create the perfect pots to display the table’s centerpieces. Oh, and that soft strumming you hear is from the local band you also discovered through the Collective.

Why We Love It:

Asheville Wedding Collective is so much more than just another planning service. It’s a way for people to find what really matters to them. As Herman said, “Couples don’t need more stuff, they need something unique.” Fortunately, the Collective provides just that by bringing the culture of Asheville to people planning weddings through access to artists’ products.

This is a major advantage for many Asheville creatives, whose only storefront is online, as it is completely free to submit to the catalogue. It truly is locals supporting locals, to deliver our best creations to the world at large.

And lastly, Asheville Wedding Collective is a community. With plans for meet-and-greets and skill-shares, it’s a place for members to grow together, while expanding their individual businesses.

Don’t Take It From Us

Be sure to check Asheville Wedding Collective out for yourself! Whether you’re newly engaged with no idea where to start, or you live off Haywood Road and have a knack for creating beautifully unique stained glass pieces that look majestic hanging from tree branches, this new website definitely has something for you!
