Since my high school theater days, I have always been romanced by the sight of a set under construction. Something about the smell of sawdust and sweat makes me acutely aware of the unfinished potential, of the promise of moving scenes to come.

A couple weeks ago, Jess and I found ourselves in downtown Weaverville (a handful of miles north of Asheville) searching for the newest venue to pop on our radar, the Weaver House. We found it hidden (quite as it should be) behind a tall fence of bamboo and pines, right off of Main Street.

The first thing we saw was the front gate. Now, this isn’t your ordinary, run-of-the-mill front gate. This was one of those doors that your hands rush to open before your mind has made the conscious decision to do so. It’s the type of portal that teases and tempts the mind with magic worlds and secret gardens, which is exactly what the Weaver House is all about.

Though currently under construction, that doesn’t stop the charm and elegance of this hidden oasis from capturing the heart. There are several spots around the property that are perfect for a dreamy ceremony. In addition to the bamboo front gate, and the wide open yard, there’s also a stone patio, as well as a koi pond to choose from. And if none of those options tickle your fancy, you can always choose to move the party indoors to the huge hall. The high ceilings, all-wood beams, and the absence of a single metal nail or screw make this space the stuff of fantasies.

After opening later this summer, the Weaver House will also be offering a variety of services and vendors to aid in streamlining the planning process. From providing the cakes, to planning the whole shebang, help will be there every step of the way.

Jess and I have talked about this perfect paradise several times since visiting. We can’t wait to get back in this beautiful spot! Just a few posts left in our wedding series. Be sure to keep an eye on your feed!
