For those who don’t know already, I friggin HATE cold weather! When I dream of sunny days, they’re warm not icy. So when the temperature starts dropping outside, I feel the change all over. Now I know what you’re thinking, “Where’s the face paint?” Am I right? But Heather Perry doesn’t need war paint to battle the forces that threaten your skin. She’s gifted in a number of areas, though the facials are probably my particular favorite. In fact, I’ll be hopping on her table to get one today! Now let’s be real for a moment. I know what you’re thinking. It isn’t always feasible to fork out cash and time for a professional facial. That is exactly why I decided to write this post. Taking care of yourself doesn’t have to be expensive, and is definitely worth the investment of your time. Today I will be peppering Heather with questions not only for tips to take care of my skin, but also about why it’s so important. And I don’t mean important for your vanity’s sake, but for whole-body wellness.

All too often, we fail to prioritize elements of our self-care because we have become conditioned to believe that is somehow indulgent and selfish. Or maybe, we have decided that it isn’t worth the money we would need to spend. Moms, single-adults, tough guys- so many of us are guilty of this.

It’s time to bust up this way of thinking! This is only part one, check back later to see how this ends. Together, we are going to break down antiquated notions of self-care, and gain some useful insight and tips along the way. Remember, you can’t help others if you don’t take care of yourself first! See you soon!
