Right after Thanksgiving is a common time for people to start decorating for the next holiday. As you scurry out to grab ornaments and knick knacks, remember to go local!

We got started early and dashed over to Sandy Hollar Christmas tree farm. After trudging through the rows of options, we picked the chubbiest one we could find. It seriously takes up half the living room!

Once we picked our favorite, the friendly guys working there chopped it, wrapped it, and helped us load it onto our truck. We took it home and immediately started getting our cheer on.

**Remember to stand back when you cut the twine or you will get smacked by a Christmas tree. Not that this happened, of course.

It’s nowhere near finished. I love to see how Logan arranges the ornaments first. Later I’ll go behind him and add more. The final touch will be specialty pieces, handcrafted and locally purchased. I’ll be sure to share any good finds!
