Want to create a beautiful table to display the gorgeous food you are about to indulge in? Everyone worked hard on making delicious food for family and friends to enjoy, but just as important as the food is the atmosphere you will be enjoying it in. First and foremost is the people you are around. Then it is what you see around you as you have that in-depth conversation about which is uncle Joe’s favorite kind of beer.

Let’s create a space of beauty using everything you already have available. We all know we don’t want to make ONE more trip to the store especially in the day before Thanksgiving. Plus, this is free and makes a gorgeous table. What can be better?!

First, I will share ideas of how to use what’s around you to create the perfect table. Then, I will share what I did to create our family table. I want you first to think about the different elements you can use and let your creative imagination run wild, before you see what I made and get that image stuck in your head.

The creativity is most of the fun!

Go outside and forage!

  • Small Branches & Twigs, can be arranged in different orders to create a festive natural centerpiece. I love the look of pine tree branches, especially.
  • Leaves, look great laying on the table or placed among the branches.
  • Red berries give color and beauty to the centerpiece, just be careful no one eats them!
  • Acorns are cute and make a great addition to the look of the table.
  • Whatever else you find that would compliment the table to look fun, festive and beautiful.

Take family members along with you for the creative adventure! It’s fun.

Making an autumn inspired table theme couldn’t be any easier than with using pieces of autumnal nature.img_20171122_1637538151647956484.jpg

Use a Pumpkin

Believe it or not, pumpkins aren’t limited to Halloween. We enjoy pumpkin dishes all fall and what is fall without pumpkin pie? So, incorporate some pumpkins in the table’s theme.

  • Carve your pumpkin, poke holes in a decorative fashion to be a gorgeous light up centerpiece. Carve a Thanksgiving themed picture into it, leaves, a pilgrim, a turkey – just get creative!
  • Paint your pumpkin, paint any of the above pictures on the pumpkin or decorative shapes.
  • Cut the lid off in a zig-zag to just be simple. Carve out the guts and place a candle in to illuminate out the top when you place the lid on crooked. Check out my pumpkin lid to get a better idea of what this looks like.

Candles always add a beautiful, elegant touch

Enough said!

Get creative with your napkins!

Napkins are on the table regardless, why not spruce them up? There are simple folds and more elaborate ones, from princess folds to swans your table guest will love it! Pick whatever design suits you and go for it! Plus this is a great activity to do with the kids!

So let your creative imagination run free and create a table your excited about to spend time with loved ones. Here is my family table:
